I’ve found it very interesting for such a short story. Kate Chopin did an excellent job with it: making the fact of the husband’s death feel so insignificant, but having the wife’s reaction to it so profound. I especially enjoyed how the wife’s realization was portrayed; you understand that, to her, time slowed down and she has a keen awareness of everything not only every sensation occuring in her body but all of the happenings going on outside. The ending felt natural as well; once she experienced true freedom and, dare I say, happiness, she couldn’t have never gone back to her internal prison. I can she how this is considered on of Chopin’s best work
